Burglars slam truck into South LA barbershop, taking money and the owner's cat

SOUTH LOS ANGELES, CA — A local barbershop owner faces devastating losses after a group of burglars rammed a truck directly into his storefront on Thanksgiving Day, stealing cash, professional tools, and his pet Savannah cat.

The incident occurred in the 1800 block of East Florence Avenue in South Los Angeles. According to surveillance video, the suspects backed a utility pickup truck straight through the glass facade of LA Fresh Cuts Barbershop, completely destroying the entrance and leaving piles of shattered glass and bent metal frames.

Once inside the shop, the burglars moved quickly, ransacking workstations and stealing expensive hair clippers, cash from the register, and the owner's kennel containing Simba, an exotic Savannah cat valued at approximately $2,000.

"They backed the truck up, smashed the whole place, and in less than two minutes, they took everything—including my cat. I just want Simba back home safe," said the owner.

The suspects were seen on video carrying the caged cat out of the wreckage and placing it into the bed of the truck before speeding away from the scene.

Community Rallies to Help

The local business community has expressed outrage over the incident. A search effort is underway to locate Simba, and the owner is offering a reward for any information leading to the safe return of the pet. The Los Angeles Police Department is analyzing security footage to track down the vehicle and suspects involved in this destructive raid.
