Hollywood Hills Homeowners Interrupt Daytime Residential Burglary

LOS ANGELES, CA โ€” A couple returning to their residence in the affluent Hollywood Hills neighborhood interrupted an active burglary attempt on Saturday afternoon, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The confrontation occurred around 3:00 PM on May 9, 2026. The homeowners arrived at their property and immediately noticed suspicious activity. Upon further investigation, they encountered suspects who had forced entry into the residence. According to police reports, the homeowners startled the intruders, prompting them to quickly abandon the scene and flee.

LAPD officers responded to the residence and established a perimeter to search the surrounding area. However, no suspects were located. Investigators are currently reviewing security footage from the home and neighboring properties to identify the individuals involved. Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported, and it remains under investigation whether any property was taken during the brief break-in.
