Tragedy in South Los Angeles: Box Truck Owner Dies After Being Run Over by Carjacking Suspect

A community in South Los Angeles is mourning the tragic loss of a local box truck owner who died after being run over by a suspect during a violent carjacking. The incident has triggered an intense manhunt by the Los Angeles Police Department as detectives seek to identify and apprehend the perpetrator.

According to police reports, the victim was in or near his box truck when the suspect approached and attempted to take control of the vehicle by force. A struggle ensued, during which the suspect managed to get behind the wheel. In a desperate attempt to stop the theft of his property, the victim tried to intervene, but the suspect accelerated, striking and running over the owner before speeding away from the scene.

Paramedics arrived shortly after receiving emergency calls from witnesses. The victim was rushed to a local trauma center with severe injuries, but despite the best efforts of medical personnel, he was pronounced dead. The identity of the deceased has not been released pending notification of family members.

The LAPD's Homicide Division is leading the investigation and treats the case as a murder committed during a robbery.
