Two Arrested Following Break-in and Burglary at Venue Cinemas in Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG, Va. — Two individuals have been arrested and face multiple charges following a break-in and burglary at the Venue Cinemas movie theater, according to the Lynchburg Police Department (LPD).

The incident occurred during the early morning hours when officers responded to a reported commercial alarm at the theater. Upon arrival, LPD officers observed physical evidence of a break-in, including forced entry through one of the building's access points. A search of the interior revealed that property had been damaged and items were stolen from the concessions and office areas.

Swift Police Response and Arrests

Following a rapid response and a search of the surrounding area, officers located two individuals matching descriptions obtained during the initial investigation. The two suspects were detained and subsequently arrested. Both individuals have been charged with commercial burglary, grand larceny, and property damage.

The Lynchburg Police Department expressed appreciation for the quick notification and the officers' rapid response, which prevented further loss or damage to the local entertainment venue.
