Convenience Store Clerk Hospitalized After Shooting in Macon Armed Robbery

MACON, Georgia — A local convenience store clerk is recovering after being shot during a violent armed robbery at a Citgo gas station in Macon. The Bibb County Sheriff's Office is conducting a full-scale search for the shooter.

Deputies were dispatched to the Citgo station on Monday following reports of gunfire and an active robbery. According to investigators, an armed suspect entered the store, demanded money, and shot the clerk during the confrontation. The suspect then took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene before emergency responders arrived.

The injured clerk was treated at the scene by emergency medical services and transported to a local hospital. Officials report that the clerk is currently in stable condition, but the severity of the attack has shocked the local community.

Detectives have secured security footage from the Citgo station and are analyzing it to obtain a description of the suspect.
