Suspect Arrested in Violent East Side Commercial Armed Robbery Spree

MADISON, Wis. — The Madison Police Department has arrested a suspect following a series of violent armed robberies targeting businesses on the city's east side. The arrest marks a significant breakthrough in an ongoing investigation that began in late July 2025.

The crime spree first drew public attention on July 31, 2025, when officers responded to a business on the east side after a robbery left two men injured. During the confrontation, suspects brandished weapons and assaulted employees before fleeing. Police immediately launched an investigation and searched for leads to identify the group responsible.

As the investigation progressed into August and September, additional incidents occurred. On September 22, 2025, another commercial armed robbery was reported on the east side. In that incident, suspects armed with a metal pipe entered a local business and threatened staff before fleeing the area. Witnesses reported seeing three suspects escape the scene.

On October 6, 2025, Madison police announced the arrest of a man in connection with the armed robbery on the near east side. While the arrest marks a major step forward, investigators are still looking for additional suspects associated with these robberies.
