Madison Officers Investigate East Side Residential Burglary

MADISON, Wis. — Madison police officers are investigating a residential burglary that took place on the city's east side on Tuesday. Authorities were dispatched to the home after the residents returned and discovered that their house had been entered and ransacked.

According to the preliminary investigation, the suspect or suspects forced entry into the residence through a back door sometime during the day while the occupants were away. A variety of personal belongings, including jewelry and electronics, were reported stolen from the property. Forensic investigators were called to the scene to process the area for fingerprints and DNA evidence.

The Madison Police Department is requesting that neighbors in the area check their security cameras or video doorbells for any suspicious vehicles or individuals loitering near the property on Tuesday. Investigators are working to determine if this incident is linked to other recent burglaries reported in the east side neighborhood.
