Four Texas Men Arrested in Connection with $1 Million Pharmacy Burglary in Missouri
MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Missouri — In a significant blow to organized pharmaceutical theft rings, federal and state law enforcement agencies have apprehended four Texas men following a high-stakes pharmacy burglary in Maryland Heights, Missouri, which netted controlled substances valued at up to $1 million.
The Burglary and Investigation
On the morning of July 31, 2025, suspects forced entry into a pharmacy located in Maryland Heights. Once inside, the perpetrators bypassed security measures and heavily damaged a secured storage cage containing highly regulated prescription drugs. Surveillance footage captured the break-in and the getaway vehicle, prompting Maryland Heights Police to issue a regional alert. The targeted substances included high-value opioids and stimulants frequently sought on the black market, such as Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, Morphine, Adderall, and Methadone.
The Interstate Apprehension
Using real-time tracking and collaborative intelligence, the Arkansas State Police intercepted the suspect vehicle later that afternoon on Interstate 30 near Caddo Valley, Arkansas. A search of the vehicle yielded two large trash bags containing approximately 284 bottles of prescription medications. In total, over 26,000 pills were recovered. Law enforcement estimates the street value of the stolen narcotics ranges between $750,000 and $1,000,000.
Federal Prosecution
The suspects, identified as Erik Dewayne Lyons Jr., Johnathan Dewayne Fore, Anthony Ray Venwright Jr., and Bartley Omar White Jr., were initially booked into the Clark County Jail on state trafficking charges. Following a federal investigation, the defendants pleaded guilty in federal court to conspiracy to distribute controlled substances and entering a pharmacy with the intent to steal. Authorities linked the crew to a series of similar pharmacy burglaries across the region, including incidents in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and Overland Park, Kansas.
