Memphis Police Investigate Parallel Burglaries at Two AutoZone Locations

The Memphis Police Department (MPD) has launched an investigation into a series of commercial burglaries after two AutoZone auto parts stores were targeted in a nearly identical manner. Detectives are looking into whether the incidents, which occurred in quick succession, are the work of the same suspect or group of thieves.

According to police reports, both locations suffered significant damage as the perpetrators forced entry to gain access to the properties. Law enforcement officials have not yet disclosed what specific merchandise or cash was taken during the break-ins, but retail security experts note that auto parts stores are frequently targeted for high-value tools, diagnostic equipment, and batteries, which can be easily resold on the secondary market.
