Armed Robbery Suspect Shot by Memphis Convenience Store Clerk; Two Accomplices Wanted

MEMPHIS, Tennessee — A convenience store clerk in the Whitehaven neighborhood of Memphis took decisive action during an armed robbery attempt, shooting one of the suspects and forcing others to flee empty-handed.

The incident occurred when multiple armed suspects entered the local convenience store with the intent to commit robbery. Faced with an immediate threat to their safety, the store clerk drew a legally owned firearm and fired at the suspects. One of the armed robbery suspects was struck by the gunfire. The remaining suspects immediately abandoned the robbery attempt and fled the scene.

Emergency services arrived shortly after the shooting to transport the injured suspect to a local hospital, where they were placed under police guard. Memphis police have launched a search for two other men believed to be involved in the attempted robbery. Authorities are analyzing security footage to trace the escape route of the remaining suspects and are calling on the public to assist in identifying them.
