Assault Rifle Armed Trio Rob Armored Truck at Memphis ATM

MEMPHIS, TN — An intense search is underway for three heavily armed suspects who targeted an armored transport vehicle during a daylight heist. The incident occurred while a courier was servicing an automated teller machine (ATM) outside a local financial institution.

According to the Memphis Police Department (MPD), the courier was working on the ATM when three men armed with assault-style rifles suddenly emerged. The suspects confronted the courier, demanding cash from the vehicle and the machine. Fearing for their life, the employee complied with the demands. The suspects secured an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing the scene in a getaway vehicle.

MPD has released security camera footage showing the dramatic moments of the heist. The video captures the three masked suspects, clad in dark clothing, brandifying long guns. Police hope the high-definition footage will help members of the public identify the individuals or the vehicle used in the robbery.

The brazen nature of the crime—committed in broad daylight with high-powered military-style rifles—has raised serious alarms among local businesses and law enforcement. Federal agencies, including the FBI, often assist in armored car robberies due to the interstate implications and severity of the offenses.

"This was an extremely dangerous situation that could have easily resulted in a loss of life," a police spokesperson stated.
