Memphis Police Search for Five Suspects in Hickory Hill Residential Burglary
MEMPHIS, TN — The Memphis Police Department is seeking the public's help in identifying five individuals wanted in connection with a residential burglary in the Hickory Hill neighborhood. The suspects reportedly forced their way into a home, causing property damage and stealing valuable items before fleeing the scene.
The burglary took place on Sunday, November 17, 2024. According to initial police reports, the five male suspects arrived at the residence and forced entry through a rear door. Once inside, they ransacked multiple rooms, targeting electronics, jewelry, and personal belongings. Investigators are reviewing local security footage to trace the suspects' escape route and determine if a vehicle was used during the heist.
Hickory Hill residents are expressing concern over the incident, which highlights a recent pattern of property crimes in the area. MPD has increased patrol units in the surrounding streets to reassure residents and monitor suspicious activity. Investigators believe the group may be linked to other recent property crimes in the southeast Memphis region.
"We are working diligently to gather physical evidence and analyze surveillance video from nearby residences," said an MPD spokesperson. "We urge anyone who saw anything unusual in the Hickory Hill area on Sunday afternoon to contact investigators immediately."
Home security specialists suggest that residents secure their back entrances with heavy-duty strikes and deadbolts, as rear entry points are the most common targets for forced entry. Tips can be submitted anonymously to Memphis Crime Stoppers at (901) 528-CASH, and a reward may be offered for information that leads to an arrest and conviction of the suspects.
