Summer Avenue Smoke Shop Target of Multiple Burglaries, Shootings, and Armed Robberies

MEMPHIS, Tennessee — Memphis police are investigating a series of violent incidents targeting local business establishments, with smoke shops on Summer Avenue repeatedly finding themselves in the crosshairs of armed robbers and burglars.

One of the most severe incidents occurred when officers responded to a commercial burglary at a smoke shop on Summer Avenue. Upon arrival, the situation escalated into a shooting as suspects opened fire. Police initiated a pursuit of the armed suspects, who attempted to flee the scene.
