Teen Arrested for Attempted Murder Following East Memphis Shootout and Robbery

A violent confrontation at an East Memphis retail store has led to the arrest and indictment of an 18-year-old suspect, police confirmed. The charges stem from an attempted robbery on February 13, 2025, which erupted into a chaotic shootout between the robber and individuals inside the store.

During the exchange of gunfire, a man who was inside the establishment was struck and wounded. Emergency services transported the victim to a local medical center with non-life-threatening injuries. The perpetrator fled the scene on foot before patrol officers arrived, initiating a multi-agency manhunt led by the Memphis Police Department.

Following weeks of investigation, forensic analysis, and public tips, detectives identified the teenage suspect and took him into custody on March 10, 2025. The suspect faces heavy felony charges, including especially aggravated robbery and attempted first-degree murder. He is currently being held at the Shelby County Jail as the judicial process begins.
