Armed Trio Robs Dollar General Store, Flees with Cash Register
MEMPHIS, TN — The Memphis Police Department is searching for three armed suspects who carried out a brazen robbery at a Dollar General store, physically removing a cash register from the premises. The armed robbery occurred on the afternoon of August 11, 2025.
According to police reports, three individuals entered the retail establishment armed with handguns. They threatened employees and demanded access to the store's funds. Instead of waiting for cash to be retrieved, the suspects forcibly ripped the entire cash register from the counter before fleeing the store on foot and subsequently escaping in a waiting vehicle.
Police Response and Suspect Descriptions
Officers arrived at the Dollar General shortly after receiving emergency calls, but the suspects had already left the area. Fortunately, no store employees or customers were reported injured during the robbery. Investigators are currently analyzing store surveillance footage to compile detailed descriptions of the armed trio and the getaway vehicle.
Community Concerns and Security Measures
Local residents have expressed growing concern over the safety of retail workers in the neighborhood. Security analysts recommend that convenience stores and discount retailers implement advanced security measures, such as anchor-secured registers, high-definition camera arrays, and panic buttons, to deter similar robberies. Police patrols have been temporarily increased around shopping plazas in the area.
Authorities urge anyone who witnessed the incident or has information about the identity of the three armed suspects to contact Memphis Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH. All calls remain strictly anonymous.
