North Memphis Convenience Store Clerk Shoots Suspect During Robbery Attempt

An attempted armed robbery at a North Memphis convenience store ended with the suspect being shot by an employee, the Memphis Police Department reported. The incident occurred during the late hours of January 29, 2025, highlighting ongoing security concerns for late-night retail workers in the area.

According to initial police reports, a suspect entered the business with the intent to commit a robbery. During the confrontation, a store clerk produced a handgun and fired at the suspect, successfully halting the crime. MPD officers responded quickly to the scene following emergency calls reporting shots fired at the commercial establishment.
