Police Search for Suspect Following Violent Home Invasion in Southeast Memphis

MEMPHIS, TN — Investigators with the Memphis Police Department are asking for community assistance to locate a suspect behind a violent home invasion in southeast Memphis. The incident, which occurred on Monday, June 17, 2024, has raised significant safety concerns among local residents.

According to police reports, a male suspect forced entry into a residential property in the southeast area of the city. Once inside, the intruder confronted the occupants, demanding cash and valuables. The suspect, described as armed and dangerous, managed to flee the scene with an undisclosed amount of personal property. Emergency medical services responded to the scene, but fortunately, no serious physical injuries were reported by the victims, though they were left deeply shaken by the encounter.

Detectives have been canvassing the neighborhood, gathering physical evidence, and searching for any residential surveillance footage that may have captured the suspect's movements before or after the break-in.
