Miami Jewelry Store Employee Arrested in Months-Long Inside Heist Over $100K

A trusted employee at a Miami jewelry store has been arrested following allegations of an extensive, months-long inside heist that resulted in the theft of more than $100,000 in high-value merchandise, Miami Police reported.

According to investigators, the suspect systematically pilfered precious jewelry pieces over a period of several months, exploiting their position within the business to bypass standard inventory checks. The theft was only discovered after discrepancies in inventory triggered an internal audit, leading management to contact the Miami Police Department.

Following a targeted investigation, detectives gathered sufficient evidence to arrest the employee. The suspect now faces heavy grand theft charges. Police recovered some details of the stolen items, which included luxury rings, necklaces, and other high-ticket inventory. Business owners in the Miami area are being reminded to audit inventory control systems regularly to prevent insider theft.
