Another suspect arrested in armed home invasion robbery of well-known Miami jeweler

MIAMI, Florida — Authorities have announced a significant breakthrough in the investigation into the violent armed home invasion and robbery of renowned local jeweler York Valdez, with the arrest of a second suspect connected to the case.

Violent Ambush at Jeweler's Home

The incident occurred on the night of March 13, 2025, at the Valdez family residence in Miami-Dade County. According to police reports, three masked and armed individuals ambushed Valdez, his wife, and their children. The assailants held the family at gunpoint while systematically ransacking the home. During the terrifying ordeal, one of the intruders reportedly said, "We know who you are. We know you are York the Jeweler," indicating that the robbery was a targeted strike rather than a random crime.

Arrests and Ongoing Investigation

The suspects fled the scene with a large haul of high-end jewelry, luxury clothing items, and the victim's personal vehicle, a white Cadillac SUV. Following a multi-agency investigation that involved the release of home surveillance footage to the public in June 2025, detectives identified and apprehended 35-year-old Wilfredo Antuna. The arrest of this second suspect represents a major milestone for the Miami-Dade Police Department as they work to bring all members of the robbery crew to justice.

"Our detectives have been working tirelessly on this case," a police spokesperson stated. "This second arrest sends a clear message that violent crime targeting our local business owners will not be tolerated."

Antuna has been charged with armed home invasion, armed robbery, and grand theft auto. He is currently being held without bond as the search continues for the remaining co-conspirators.
