Trio Arrested for Running Illegal Chop Shop in Miami-Dade After Stolen Corvette Discovered

A comprehensive investigation conducted by the sheriff's department in Miami-Dade County has resulted in the dismantling of an active vehicle chop shop and the arrest of three suspects.

The bust occurred at a local Miami-Dade business premises after authorities executed a search warrant. The investigation was initially triggered by a tracking signal from a stolen luxury Corvette, which led detectives directly to the site. Upon entering, investigators discovered the Corvette along with evidence of multiple other luxury vehicles in various stages of disassembly.

According to the sheriff's office, the three suspects operated a sophisticated scheme where stolen high-end vehicles were brought to the location, quickly stripped of their valuable parts, and sold off, while the remaining frames were disposed of. The site was equipped with specialized tools designed to facilitate the rapid dismantling of cars and avoid identification of stolen parts.

The three suspects have been charged with operating a chop shop, grand theft auto, and possession of altered vehicle identification numbers (VINs). Sheriff's deputies emphasized that operations of this type fuel local auto theft rings and vowed to continue targeting commercial locations that support these illicit networks.
