Milford Man Arrested After Being Found Hiding in Casey's Convenience Store Ceiling

MILFORD, IA — A local man faces multiple criminal charges after police officers extracted him from the ceiling structure of a Casey’s convenience store in Milford, Iowa.

Hiding in the Ceiling Tiles

The unusual incident occurred after police received reports of a potential trespasser or active burglary in progress at the retail store. Upon arrival, responding officers did not locate anyone on the store floor but noticed disturbed ceiling tiles and heard suspicious scraping noises coming from the ceiling void above the retail aisles.

Officers established a secure perimeter inside the store and called for the suspect to descend. When he refused to comply, officers utilized ladders and specialized search gear to navigate the ceiling framework. They eventually located the suspect wedged inside the rafters and safely brought him down to the ground without injury.

Arrest and Legal Charges

The Milford resident was taken into custody and transported to the county jail. He faces charges including third-degree burglary, criminal mischief, and interference with official acts.
