Gunfire Erupts Inside Milwaukee Home During Armed Robbery; Suspect at Large

MILWAUKEE, WI — A terrifying home invasion shook a quiet Milwaukee neighborhood after an armed burglar broke into a residence and discharged a firearm inside the home.

The incident occurred on the afternoon of February 26, 2026. According to the Milwaukee Police Department, the suspect forced entry into the home and confronted the residents, brandishing a handgun. During the tense encounter, the intruder fired a shot inside the house, causing immediate panic. Fortunately, the bullet missed the occupants, and no physical injuries were reported.

The suspect fled the residence shortly after discharging the weapon, taking an undisclosed amount of cash and personal property. Officers arrived on the scene, established a perimeter, and deployed K-9 units, but the suspect remains at large.
