Montgomery County: Police Report Stabbing, Burglaries, and Auto Thefts in Daily Crime Summary
The Montgomery County Police Department has released its daily crime summary, detailing a busy overnight shift for officers across multiple districts spanning late June 3 to early June 4.
Stabbing at Glenmont Metro Station
In the 4th District, officers responded to a violent stabbing around 1:49 a.m. on Thursday at the Glenmont Metro Station on the 12500 block of Georgia Avenue. Arriving officers discovered a male victim on the sidewalk suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victim was immediately transported to a local hospital. Police successfully apprehended the suspect as he attempted to flee the station, resulting in an arrest.
Restaurant Burglarized in Silver Spring
Just minutes later, between 1:50 a.m. and 1:52 a.m., a commercial burglary took place in the 3rd District. Suspects targeted the Langano Ethiopian Restaurant, located in the 8300 block of Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring. The perpetrators shattered the front glass window to gain entry, stole property from the establishment, and managed to flee the scene before police arrived.
Wave of Vehicle and Parts Thefts
The summary also highlighted a rash of vehicle-related crimes across the county. In the 3rd District, an airbag was stolen from a vehicle on Colony Road, and two vehicles were stolen from Colgate Way, one of which was later recovered in Laurel.
In the 6th District, investigators successfully apprehended two juveniles linked to a stolen vehicle taken from West Side Drive. Detectives surveilled the stolen car and followed it to a business in Kentlands where the arrests were made. Additional vehicle thefts were also reported on Lost Knife Road and Quince Orchard Road.
