Grocery Store Car Crash Linked to Pawn Shop Burglary in Murfreesboro

MURFREESBORO, Tennessee — Murfreesboro Police Department investigators have linked a car crash at a local grocery store parking lot to a commercial burglary that took place at a nearby pawn shop earlier in the day.

The investigation began after officers responded to a collision at a grocery store, where a suspect vehicle had crashed and was subsequently abandoned. Shortly after securing the crash site, officers received a report of a commercial burglary at a nearby pawn shop. Upon analyzing physical evidence and witness descriptions from both locations, detectives determined that the vehicle involved in the grocery store crash was the same getaway car used in the pawn shop theft.

Investigating the Connection

According to preliminary findings, suspects forced entry into the pawn shop, quickly stealing high-value merchandise before fleeing in the vehicle. While attempting to make their escape, the driver lost control, leading to the crash in the grocery store parking lot. The occupants then abandoned the damaged vehicle and fled the scene on foot before police arrived.
