Kia Optima Used in $40K Cellphone Theft from Murfreesboro Retailer

MURFREESBORO, Tennessee — Murfreesboro police are searching for suspects who used a Kia Optima to execute a major retail heist, escaping with approximately $40,000 worth of cellphones from a local business.

According to investigators, the suspects arrived at the retail location in the Kia Optima, which has recently been described by local law enforcement as a frequent vehicle of choice for area thefts. The suspects entered the store, managed to bypass security measures, and stole a large inventory of high-value smartphones before fleeing the scene in the same vehicle.

Law enforcement officials are reviewing security footage from the store and neighboring businesses to track the getaway car's movements and obtain a license plate number.
