Attempted ATM Heist Damaged Murfreesboro Bank Terminal

MURFREESBORO, Tennessee — A local bank branch in Murfreesboro was the target of an attempted ATM burglary early Friday morning. While the suspects caused extensive damage to the outer casing of the automated teller machine, they ultimately failed to retrieve any cash from the secure vault.

According to police reports, officers responded to an alarm triggered at the financial institution's drive-through lane. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the ATM had been heavily defaced and structurally compromised, showing signs of a forced-entry attempt. It appeared the perpetrators used tools or a vehicle in an effort to pull the machine apart or access the internal cash cassettes.
