Naperville Smoke Shops Targeted in Wave of Burglaries: Teens and Adults Facing Charges

Naperville has experienced a series of targeted burglaries at local smoke shops, resulting in multiple arrests ranging from local teenagers to adult men from the surrounding Chicago area. The incidents, which spanned from late December 2024 through March 2025, have prompted increased vigilance and a swift response from the Naperville Police Department.

In late December 2024, officers responded to a burglary at the Drippy Smoke Shop in Naperville. Authorities subsequently arrested and charged several teenagers in connection with the break-in. According to police reports, the suspects forced entry into the business before fleeing with merchandise. The swift investigation by local detectives led to the identification and charging of the juvenile suspects shortly after the incident.

The trend continued into the spring of 2025. On March 7, 2025, Naperville police responded to another break-in at a local smoke shop. Following a brief pursuit and coordination between responding units, officers apprehended two men. Both individuals face charges related to burglary and possession of stolen property.
