Injured Burglary Suspect Discovered Bleeding Atop Semi-Truck in South Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tennessee — A bizarre turn of events in South Nashville led to the arrest of a burglary suspect who was discovered bleeding on top of a semi-truck early in the morning, police reported.

Metro Nashville Police officers responded to a commercial burglar alarm at a business premises off Interstate 65 in South Nashville. Upon arriving at the scene, officers noticed signs of forced entry and property damage, but the suspect was no longer inside the building. During a sweep of the surrounding industrial parking lot, officers spotted a trail of blood leading toward a line of parked commercial vehicles.

Following the trail, officers discovered the suspect lying on the roof of a semi-truck's sleeper cab, suffering from lacerations apparently sustained during the break-in. Nashville Fire Department medics were dispatched to the scene to safely retrieve the injured man from the top of the vehicle. After receiving medical treatment at a local hospital for non-life-threatening cuts, the suspect was booked into the Davidson County Jail on charges of commercial burglary and vandalism.
