Remote Homeowner Helps Nashville Police Catch Suspected Burglar in East Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tennessee — An out-of-town homeowner was able to assist the Metro Nashville Police Department in capturing a suspected burglar inside an East Nashville residence, thanks to modern home security technology.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. While traveling, the resident received alert notifications from a smart home security camera showing an unauthorized individual entering the house. The homeowner immediately contacted police and provided dispatchers with live descriptions and updates of the intruder's movements inside the property.

Officers dispatched to the scene surrounded the East Nashville home within minutes. Utilizing the live coordinates and descriptions provided by the homeowner, officers entered the residence and apprehended the suspect without further incident.

"This is a prime example of how modern technology and prompt communication can lead to a successful outcome," police officials noted. The suspect was taken into custody and faces charges of aggravated burglary and possession of burglary tools. The identity of the suspect has not yet been released pending formal charging.
