Newark Man Arrested After Knifepoint Robbery on Kirkwood Highway

NEWARK, Delaware — A local resident has been apprehended and charged in connection with a knifepoint robbery outside a business located on Kirkwood Highway. The Newark Police Department confirmed the arrest following a swift response to the incident.

According to police reports, the suspect approached the victim outside the store, produced a knife, and demanded personal belongings. The victim, fearing for their safety, complied with the demands. The suspect then fled the scene on foot but was located and detained by responding officers shortly thereafter.

The suspect has been formally charged with first-degree robbery, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, and related offences.
