Suspect Uses Google Translate App to Announce Robbery at Newark Restaurant

Newark police are searching for an unusual suspect who reportedly used a digital translation application to execute a robbery at a local restaurant. The incident, which has left staff and patrons startled, occurred during regular business hours when the suspect entered the establishment and approached the counter.

Instead of speaking, the individual typed a message into a translation app on their mobile phone and displayed the translated text to the cashier. The message announced a robbery and demanded cash from the register. Fearing for their safety, the employee complied with the digital demand, handing over an undisclosed amount of money.
