NEW HAVEN, CT — A confrontation at a popular Chapel Street retail shop escalated to physical violence on Thursday, October 9, 2025, when an employee was assaulted while attempting to prevent a robbery, according to local police.
The incident occurred in the afternoon at the Arethusa Farm Dairy storefront, a local favorite known for its ice cream and cheese. According to police reports, an unidentified individual entered the store and attempted to shoplift merchandise and steal cash.
