Suspect Arrested in Connection with Restaurant and Church Burglaries Near St. Claude Avenue

NEW ORLEANS, LA โ€” The New Orleans Police Department has apprehended a man suspected of targeting a local restaurant and multiple churches in a series of burglaries on or near St. Claude Avenue.

The arrest follows an intensive investigation into a wave of break-ins that occurred over several weeks. According to police reports, the suspect broke into a popular restaurant and at least two churches in the neighborhood, causing significant property damage and stealing electronic equipment, cash boxes, and parish donations. The targeting of local places of worship had caused substantial distress among community members and local congregations.

Detectives utilized physical evidence left at the scenes, along with security footage from nearby residential and commercial properties, to identify the suspect. Officers located and arrested the individual without incident. He now faces multiple counts of simple burglary and property damage.

The NOPD credited the swift resolution of these cases to the cooperation and sharing of security footage by neighbors along the St. Claude Avenue corridor. Investigations remain open to determine if the suspect is connected to other unsolved property crimes in the area.
