New Orleans Woman Shot and Wounded by Stranger in Attempted Home Invasion

NEW ORLEANS, LA — A local woman is recovering after being shot during an attempted home invasion on April 12, 2025. The New Orleans Police Department is seeking information to locate the unidentified suspect who carried out the violent attack.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning. According to NOPD investigators, the victim was inside her residence when she heard someone attempting to break in through a door or window. When she went to investigate the noise, the suspect fired shots through the entry point, striking her.
