Police Arrest Two Suspects After Attempted Armed Robbery of Customers on Chef Menteur Highway

NEW ORLEANS, LA — Two suspects are in police custody following an attempted armed robbery that targeted customers outside a business on Chef Menteur Highway early Sunday.

The incident occurred when two customers were leaving a retail store along the busy corridor. According to the New Orleans Police Department, the suspects approached the victims, brandished a firearm, and demanded their personal belongings. The victims did not comply, and a brief altercation ensued before the suspects fled the scene without successfully taking any items.

Responding officers quickly arrived in the area after receiving emergency calls. Utilizing descriptions provided by the victims and witnesses, police located and arrested the two suspects nearby shortly after the incident. A firearm believed to have been used in the robbery attempt was recovered during the arrest.

Both individuals have been booked into the Orleans Parish Prison on charges of attempted armed robbery. NOPD officials commended the rapid response of the patrol officers and the cooperation of the community in securing the swift arrests.
