Cash register stolen during overnight burglary at Manhattan eatery, NYPD reports

MANHATTAN, NY โ€” Authorities are investigating an overnight break-in at a local eatery in Manhattan where a suspect successfully fled with the establishment's cash register. According to the New York City Police Department (NYPD), the incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday, October 30, 2025.

Police reports indicate that the suspect gained entry into the commercial restaurant premises after hours. Once inside, the individual targeted the counter area, detached the cash register, and quickly exited the scene. It remains unclear how much cash was inside the register at the time of the theft.

Detectives are currently reviewing surveillance footage from the eatery and neighboring businesses to trace the suspect's entry and escape path. No injuries were reported, and the investigation remains active as authorities search for witnesses.
