Masked Suspect Wanted for Violent Pistol-Whipping and Robbery at Briarwood Convenience Store

NEW YORK CITY — The New York City Police Department is requesting the public's assistance in identifying and locating a suspect wanted in connection with a violent armed robbery at a convenience store in the Briarwood neighborhood of Queens.

According to police reports, the incident occurred on July 28, 2025, when an unidentified masked man entered the retail establishment. The suspect brandished a handgun and confronted a store worker. During the encounter, the suspect violently pistol-whipped the employee, inflicting physical injuries, before demanding access to the store's cash register.

After securing an undisclosed amount of currency, the perpetrator fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction. Emergency medical services responded to the scene to treat the injured worker's lacerations. The NYPD has released surveillance descriptions of the suspect, who was wearing dark clothing and a face covering, and encourages anyone with information to contact the Crime Stoppers hotline.
