Suspect Sought for Burglaries at Colley Avenue Papa Joe's Smoke Shop and 7-Eleven; Armed Robbery Charges Filed

NORFOLK, VA — The Norfolk Police Department is investigating a series of commercial burglaries and a separate violent armed robbery along the active Colley Avenue commercial corridor. Detectives are asking for the public's help to identify a suspect linked to break-ins at Papa Joe's Smoke Shop and a local 7-Eleven store, while legal proceedings begin against an individual arrested for armed robbery at the same convenience store.

According to police files, the burglaries at Papa Joe's Smoke Shop and the 7-Eleven occurred during the overnight hours, with the suspect forcing entry to steal tobacco products, cash, and miscellaneous merchandise. Security footage from both businesses captured the suspect carrying out the break-ins, leading investigators to believe the same individual is responsible. In a separate and more severe incident at the Colley Avenue 7-Eleven, police responded to a call regarding a violent armed robbery. A male suspect entered the store, brandished a weapon, and demanded cash from the register clerk.
