Suspect Arrested in Armed Robbery at North Charleston Gas Station
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. — A 35-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with an armed robbery that took place at a local gas station, according to the North Charleston Police Department.
Police responded to an emergency call reporting a robbery in progress at a service station within the city limits. Store employees reported that a male suspect entered the establishment, brandished a knife, and demanded cash from the register. Fearing for their safety, the employees complied with the demands, and the suspect fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.
NCPD officers quickly flooded the area, locating a man matching the suspect's description a short distance from the gas station. He was identified as the perpetrator and taken into custody without further incident. The knife believed to have been used in the commission of the crime was recovered by responding officers. The suspect faces charges of armed robbery and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. He is currently being held at the Al Cannon Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
