Suspect Arrested Following Armed Robberies of Paddock Mall Jewelry Store and Family Dollar

OCALA, Florida — A suspect is in custody following a series of armed robberies that targeted two commercial locations in Ocala: a Family Dollar retail store and a jewelry store located inside the popular Paddock Mall.

According to Ocala Police Department investigators, the suspect first targeted the Family Dollar store, brandishing a weapon and demanding cash from employees before fleeing the scene. Shortly after, police received emergency calls reporting a second armed robbery, this time targeting a jewelry store inside the Paddock Mall, causing alarm among mall shoppers.

Swift Apprehension by OPD

Officers responded rapidly to both scenes, gathering descriptions and tracking the suspect's movements. Thanks to coordinated efforts by patrol units and detectives, the suspect was located and arrested shortly after the second incident.

The suspect now faces multiple felony charges, including armed robbery and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. No injuries were reported in either robbery, and police are working to recover the stolen jewelry and cash assets.
