Police Search for Suspects After Shots Fired During Auto Burglary in Southeast OKC

An auto burglary investigation in Southeast Oklahoma City has turned into a shooting investigation after shots were fired during the incident. Authorities are currently searching for multiple suspects who fled the scene near the intersection of Southeast 59th Street and Shields Boulevard.

According to police reports, the incident occurred on September 17, 2025, when the owner of a vehicle or a witness confronted individuals attempting to break into a car. During the confrontation, suspects brandished firearms and fired shots before escaping. Fortunately, no initial reports of major injuries from the gunfire have been confirmed by emergency responders.

Oklahoma City police arrived on the scene shortly after receiving emergency calls reporting shots fired in the residential and commercial zone. Officers secured the area, collected shell casings, and began interviewing witnesses. Detectives are urging anyone with information or security camera footage from the vicinity of SE 59th and Shields to contact the Oklahoma City Police Department immediately.
