Sledgehammer-Wielding Suspect Robs Pawn Shop in Northwest Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma City Police Department is actively searching for a male suspect involved in a brazen commercial robbery of a pawn shop near Northwest 23rd Street and Pennsylvania Avenue. The crime, which occurred in late December, involved the use of a heavy tool to bypass the shop's defenses.

According to investigators, the suspect arrived at the location armed with a sledgehammer. He used the tool to smash through the front facade of the business during non-business hours, allowing him quick access to the interior. Once inside, he utilized the sledgehammer to shatter several glass display cases, snatching high-value items, including jewelry and electronics, before fleeing the scene.

Detectives have released surveillance photographs of the suspect in the hope that members of the public can help identify him. He is described as a medium-build male wearing dark clothing and a mask to conceal his face. The business has sustained thousands of dollars in property damage alongside the loss of inventory.
