Omaha Thieves Target Gun Stores Using Stolen Vehicles, Stealing Assault Rifles

OMAHA, Nebraska — Local authorities are investigating a series of daring smash-and-grab burglaries targeting gun stores across Omaha, where thieves used stolen vehicles to breach security and steal multiple high-powered firearms.

According to reports, the suspects targeted local firearm retailers by driving stolen cars directly through the buildings' entrances. Once inside, the perpetrators quickly gathered a variety of firearms, specifically targeting semi-automatic rifles such as AR-15s and AK-47s, before fleeing the scene in secondary getaway vehicles.

The Omaha Police Department is currently analyzing surveillance footage from the targeted shops and neighboring businesses.
