Over $85K in Fireworks Stolen from Orlando Business Ahead of Fourth of July
ORLANDO, Florida โ Thieves have dealt a severe blow to a local business by stealing more than $85,000 worth of commercial-grade fireworks right before the lucrative Fourth of July holiday weekend.
The burglary occurred at an Orlando-based business location where inventory was being kept in heavy-duty shipping containers. According to police reports, the perpetrators managed to cut through heavy locks and security barriers to access the storage units. They then loaded cases of highly flammable pyrotechnics onto vehicles and fled the scene before security patrols could detect the breach.
Given the timing of the theft, authorities believe the stolen fireworks are being illegally distributed or sold on the black market. Local fire marshals and police have warned the public against purchasing fireworks from unauthorized sellers, emphasizing the physical danger of handling unverified explosive materials.
Law enforcement is asking anyone with information or surveillance footage from the surrounding area to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation.
