Five Suspects Apprehended for Looting Sneaker Warehouse Amid Hurricane Milton Chaos in Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando police have arrested five suspects accused of breaking into and looting a local sneaker warehouse, taking advantage of the widespread disruption and chaos caused by Hurricane Milton.

Authorities responded to a burglary call at a commercial warehouse district during the height of the storm's impact. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a group of individuals had forced entry into the facility, which stored high-end footwear and apparel. The suspects were actively removing merchandise when police arrived on the scene.

Despite the hazardous weather conditions, officers successfully apprehended all five suspects inside or near the perimeter of the warehouse. Large quantities of stolen sneakers were recovered and returned to the business owner.

Looting during a declared state of emergency carries enhanced penalties under Florida law. The suspects face charges including burglary during a state of emergency and grand theft, and they have been booked into the Orange County Jail.
