Orlando Man Arrested Following Armed Home Invasion and Fatal Shooting

ORLANDO, Florida — One man is in custody following an armed home invasion in Orlando that ended in a fatal shooting, according to the Orlando Police Department. The swift arrest came after officers responded to a distress call reporting an active burglary and gunshots at a local residence.

When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a male victim suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds. Paramedics attempted life-saving measures, but the victim was pronounced dead shortly thereafter. A suspect was located nearby by responding officers and was apprehended without further incident. Police recovered a firearm at the scene believed to have been used in the commission of the crime.

Investigators are working to establish the relationship, if any, between the suspect and the homeowner, as well as the sequence of events that led to the gunfire. The suspect faces multiple felony charges, including armed home invasion, first-degree murder, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He is currently being held at the Orange County Jail without bond.
