Police Drones Track Down and Corner Burglary Suspect on Orlando Rooftop

ORLANDO, FL — In a demonstration of how modern technology is aiding law enforcement, the Orlando Police Department successfully deployed aerial drones to locate and arrest a fleeing burglary suspect hiding on a rooftop.

The incident began when police responded to a burglary call in a residential area. As officers arrived, the suspect attempted to flee the scene and managed to climb onto the roof of a nearby building, seeking to hide from officers on the ground. Realizing the suspect had established a tactical vantage point, officers deployed the department's tactical drone unit to scan the rooflines.

The drone's high-definition camera quickly spotted the suspect crouching in the shadows of the roof structure.
