Pasadena Couple Targeted and Robbed of $9,000 Cash Withdrawn for Son's First Car

PASADENA, CA — A local couple experienced a devastating loss on May 25, 2025, after being targeted by thieves in a "jugging" robbery, resulting in the theft of $9,000 in cash intended to purchase a car for their son.

According to police reports, the victims had visited a local banking branch to withdraw the funds. Unbeknownst to them, suspects were monitoring the bank lobby or parking lot for individuals carrying large sums of cash. The suspects followed the couple as they drove away from the bank to their next destination.

Upon stopping, the suspects confronted the couple and forcefully took the envelope containing the cash before fleeing the scene in a getaway vehicle. The victims were left traumatized by the sudden confrontation but did not suffer severe physical injuries.
