Pensacola Church Burglary Suspect Faces Additional Charges After Bizarre Internet Searches Revealed
PENSACOLA, Fla. โ A suspect arrested for burglarizing a local church in Pensacola is now facing a litany of additional charges after investigators uncovered incriminating evidence on his mobile phone, including search queries about where religious institutions store their cash.
According to the Pensacola Police Department, the suspect was initially apprehended following a break-in at a local house of worship. During the subsequent investigation, digital forensics officers examined the suspect's electronic devices and discovered that he had searched online for terms such as "Where do church keep money" prior to the break-in.
The discovery of the targeted search history has allowed prosecutors and investigators to establish premeditation, leading to the filing of extra charges against the suspect. The church suffered property damage during the entry, though the exact amount of stolen funds or property has not been fully disclosed.
The suspect remains in custody at the Escambia County Jail as the legal process moves forward. Police officials commended the thorough work of the detectives in securing the additional evidence, which reinforces the charges of burglary and grand theft.
