13-Year-Old Held at Gunpoint in Terrifying Holmesburg Home Invasion

PHILADELPHIA, PA — A terrifying incident unfolded in Philadelphia’s Holmesburg neighborhood when a 13-year-old boy was followed into his home and held at gunpoint by armed intruders, according to local authorities.

The teenager was returning home from a local corner store in the mid-afternoon. Police reports indicate that as the minor opened his front door, two masked individuals approached him from behind and forced their way inside the residence. Once inside the property, one suspect brandished a semi-automatic handgun, holding the youth at gunpoint, while the second suspect ransacked the living room and bedrooms in search of cash and valuables.

Although the teenager did not suffer any physical injuries, family members reported that he has been left severely traumatized by the ordeal. The intruders ultimately fled the home on Welsh Road carrying several electronics, a gaming console, and a small sum of cash. They were seen escaping in a dark-colored sedan that was parked nearby.

Detectives from the Northeast Detective Division are investigating the incident and are reviewing surveillance footage from adjacent properties.
